Willow
Lane Ranch is located south of the Calgary in the heart of ranch country.
This is where the rolling foothills meet the Rocky Mountains and the stress
of city life just seems to fade away. You will join your hosts on a real
working cattle and horse ranch and learn all about western Canadian hospitality.
This is not a dude ranch, where trail riding is the main objective, but a working ranch. These folks are cowboys ... they know the country; they know cattle; they understand the Cow Horse and they are willing to share their knowledge, experience & way of life with you.
Visitors marvel at the vastness, the stark beauty and the diversity of landscape that Willow Lane offers. For those who have never experienced farm or ranch life or are wanting to reacquaint themselves with their roots, this is a time of rejuvenation, a time of re-discovery. Deadlines, traffic and voice mail are all very far away.
You’ll get acquainted with your hosts as you enjoy a wholesome dinner, followed by a pleasant night’s rest in your new home.
OR
Guests take part in daily ranch activities, which may include riding with your hosts to check cattle, rounding up cattle, fence mending and general ranch activities.
After
hours, guests often gather around the campfire or indoors in the family
room, around the piano or TV and VCR. Stories are traded, experiences embellished
and it is not uncommon for a song or two to be heard, as the Lane's entertain
guests and encourage them to join in on a session or two. A library and
board games are also available for your pleasure. Outside a cedar hot tub
completes the picture of a great way to cool your heels before climbing
into your cozy bed for one of the best and well earned sleeps you have ever
had.
There’s no need to be in a hurry this morning. You will enjoy another hearty breakfast before heading off down the trail on your return journey through the rolling foothills scenery to Calgary.
5 Day/4 Night: $1062.50/person (based on double occupancy) plus tax & 10% gratuity.

Arrive at the ranch to spend the first night at the ranch house.
Guests
stay in a comfortable tent camp away from the ranch house in the beautiful
Porcupine Hills. (Clients will be expected to share a tent with one other
same sex guest or as a couple. The tents are 12 X 14 and able to easily
handle two people with lots of room for there gear as well.) Long hours
in the saddle and lots of cattle work in a wonderfully scenic setting, highlight
this adventure.
A usual day would see everyone in the saddle by 9:30 AM and back to camp around 5:00 PM. For the first day, however, everyone is in the saddle by 11:00 AM returning to camp at 6:30 or 7 PM. A mid-day break is taken for lunch (which is packed along). Breakfast & Supper are served at camp.
Guests return to the ranch where they can refresh and change back into their “civilian” clothes for the return journey to Calgary.
* Advanced Camps are for guests able to handle long hours in the saddle without a break. Guests do not need cattle handling experience, the wranglers will instruct them, however the riding in these camps often calls for quick maneuvers and thinking as well as the ability and confidence to get your horse moving in a hurry. Another important difference is that the terrain is often rough and varied with no chance to choose an easier route so confidence in your horse and riding ability are important.
In order for guests to enjoy the Western Cow Camp experiences, they should have at least intermediate riding experience and be able to ride for long periods of time. The terrain is varied as is the pace but most of the riding is done at a walk or trot. Cantering or galloping is only done when necessary to bring the cattle back into line or keep them going in the right direction.

and geese.
The
